For the first time in the history of the Vodafone company, the revenues generated by Internet traffic exceeded the revenues generated by sending SMS. The announcement it was made by an official of the company during the conference for the presentation of HTC Sensation that took place today. For Vodafone, and not only, it is important information because it proves how much the segment of users who use the Internet on mobile terminals has grown. Whether we are talking about smartphones, tablets or phones capable of accessing the web, the trend is as clear as possible and in the coming years the income generated by internet traffic will represent a good part of the companies' budgets.
I would like to believe that in Romania the situation is at least similar, but I doubt this. Anyway, in a few years this segment will be more and more important for operators in Romania who will more than likely increase internet connection speeds along with subscription prices.
