Apple has made a habit of releasing the source code for its iOS webkit, especially since it uses LGPL licensed codes in its versions of the operating system for iDevices. Lately, Apple has released several successive versions of iOS but no source code on the page where we have available all the source codes for WebKit for each version of iOS. to insistence to Harald Welte of GPL Violations, Apple a publicat finally all source codes up to iOS 4.3.3 inclusive.
It is not clear why Apple decided to postpone the release of this source code for so long, but some speculate that it would be about the Nitro JavaScript implemented in iOS 4.3. Regardless of the reasons, Apple released the source code and everyone interested can inspect it.
