iDevice.ro mini review: MacBook Pro 2011 and battery life

I told you on Monday that courtesy of the people at evoMAG.ro I came into possession this model 13-inch MacBook Pro that I will be able to use until next week. One of the most important things about a laptop is the autonomy and MacBooks are famous for their very high autonomy even under conditions of intense use. On the Apple website, it is specified that a 2011-inch MacBook Pro 13 reaches an autonomy of approximately 7 hours if it is used for browsing through a Wi-Fi network. Their estimate is correct, but it only applies to a very limited number of cases.

Yesterday I did 2 tests regarding the battery autonomy for this MacBook Pro and in both I managed to obtain 5+ hours of autonomy. In the first test I obtained 5 hours and 20 minutes and in the second 5 hours and 40 minutes, the MacBook being on the second full recharge before the second test. The autonomy is very good, more than double that of my Asus which after 2 hours shuts down and "leaves" me uncovered.

That I managed to use it for more than 5 hours is one thing, but the important thing is what I did in these 5 hours, right? Well, I surfed the web (we include here and watched flash movies), listened to music, wrote articles, watched 2 episodes for 2 series and installed some applications. Normal use, but I also had a keyboard/mouse connected to it via USB, so it had to provide power for them as well. If he didn't have to endure them then I probably would have won about 20 more minutes, but until the final review I will test this aspect as well. I want to mention that in 80% of the time the brightness of the screen was set to maximum, so if you want to get a greater autonomy, you can the brightness. A full charge takes around 2-2 hours and 30 minutes, even faster than in the case of an iPad tablet.

In conclusion, for normal use the 2011-inch MacBook Pro 13 has a battery life of approximately 5 and a half hours even with a keyboard + a mouse connected via USB. If you start editing photos in Photoshop or working with Garageband or iMovie, then the autonomy will be considerably reduced. That's it for now, thanks again to those from Evomag for MacBook Pro and I recommend you to visit them.
