Ecopad – the tablet that loads and works based on human interaction

Ecopad is a very interesting tablet concept that could one day be sold on the market. It was developed by those from Yanko Design and presents us with a new tablet model that would charge based on human interaction. The tablet would be essentially exactly like the one currently available on the market, but it would have a piezoelectric nano layer on the screen, which would be able to produce and store energy following our interaction with the tablet. When we press on the screen, this layer stores the energy in the battery and keeps the tablet active, so practically we should use the tablet constantly to be sure that it is open. The concept is not new, similar ones have been presented in the past, but for tablets it is a first.

Who needs chargers or plugs when all you need to keep your tablet open is interaction with it. You don't use a tablet? It stays closed and when you need it, you interact with the screen, produce electricity and it comes to life. I think that technologies like this would be extremely useful for the future considering that many users demand the implementation of more and more powerful batteries in today's tablets and smartphones.
