iTunes 10.5, Safari 5.1 and Mac OS X Lion developer 4 available

Although last night Apple launched iTunes 10.3 for the general public today iTunes 10.5 beta is available for iOS app developers who want to install and test iOS 5 beta 1. The new version of iTunes is required to install and sync iOS 5 but it also enables some iCloud features which are not yet available for iTunes 10.3. iTunes 10.5 also brings some graphical changes to the program's toolbar, but there is an important novelty that allows us to automatically download application updates and new purchases. That's about it for this version of iTunes, it is dedicated to installing and synchronizing iOS 5.

Safari 5.1 developer preview is also available starting today. Apple offers developers of iOS applications the opportunity to test the new functions of Safari that will only be available in Mac OS X Lion. We are talking about the possibility to see Safari pages in full screen, to activate the cache for media content using the application cache from HTML 5 and finally there is improved graphics acceleration for users of the Windows operating system. Of course Safari 5.1 is only available through the Dev Center.

You can now download Safari 5.1 Developer Preview and take advantage of new technologies, including support for full-screen webpages, media caching with the HTML5 application cache, and better graphics acceleration on Windows.

With Safari 5.1 Developer Preview, you can tap into new extension APIs, including support for popovers, menus, new event classes, and interaction with Reader.

Mac OS X Lion developer preview 4 is available starting today for all developers. The 11A48Gb build contains some of the functions presented by Apple last night at WWDC 2011, so you will be able to try a multitude of new things. Not much is known about this version of Mac OS X for now, but you can only download it if you have a developer account with Apple.
