The ones from Gizmodo they discoveredto the very strange technique of activating a terminal that has been updated to iOS 5 but has not registered the UDID in a developer's account. The method is very complicated but it seems to work because the guys from Gizmodo are very serious about it. The steps below must be followed very carefully to be sure that after installation the activation of your terminal will be done without any problems. The method was discovered by a young man who seems to have a lot of time at his disposal but managed to discover a very useful method that gives many people the opportunity to install iOS 5 without paying anything. The process below will only work on iPhone.

First you have to download iOS 5 from the Internet, preferably from your developer account, then install it using the shift + Check for update method from iTunes. After you finish the installation, follow the steps below very carefully.

1. Press the Home button 3 times to open the Voice Over menu.

2. Press the Home button 3 times again and a menu will appear from which you select Emergency Call.

3. After pressing the Emergency Call button, the window in which you have the call started will open. Now swipe down with 3 fingers and you will open the Notifications Center.

4. From the Notifications Center, open the Weather application.

5. Press the Home button, exit the Weather application and that's it, you can use iOS 5.

After entering the system, close Voice Over and you will be able to use absolutely everything from iOS 5 without problems. The idea is to have a factory unlocked/coded terminal in the network you use, otherwise the above process will not work at all. I tried the method, I didn't manage to swipe, so I can't confirm if it works or not. Gizmodo treats the problem seriously, it didn't work for me.

UPDATED: Activation by this method leads to the impossibility of using the telephone function of your iPhone!

UPDATE 2: The method also works on the iPod Touch, theoretically it should also work on the iPad.
