Users of the Windows XP operating system will not be able to use iCloud

Although Windows 7 is considered by some to be the best version of Windows ever released, Windows XP is still among the most popular operating systems in the world almost a decade after its release. Apple is not too impressed by this aspect and it seems that it could offer iCloud only to people who have Windows Vista/7 installed in their computers. For now, both iTunes 10.3 and iTunes 10.5 work with Windows XP, but if iCloud won't work with the old operating system, then I'm sure there will be many dissatisfied people.

Using iCloud with a PC requires Windows Vista or Windows 7; Outlook 2010 or 2007 is recommended for accessing contacts and calendars.

The above phrase can be found in the press release published by Apple on June 6, and it specifies very clearly that to use iCloud with a computer, Windows Vista/7 is needed. It seems that for Apple Windows XP no longer represents an operating system that must be supported in the future, but considering that Apple is trying to make us give up computers, does XP still matter? If we can synchronize everything with iCloud, how important will iTunes be? Windows XP owners will find out the answer to these questions in the fall, when they will probably have to install Windows 7 if they want to be able to use iCloud.
