Foxconn will produce the first iPad 2 tablets in Brazil this fall

Foxconn, one of the most important partners of the Apple company, will start the production of iPad 2 tablets in Brazil this fall. The Asian company reached a understanding with the Brazilian government and by the fall several production lines will be put into operation from where units will be delivered to the USA and probably the rest of the world. For Foxconn, the business is more than beneficial because the production costs of the tablets could be reduced by almost 40% considering that the Brazilian government will exempt the Foxconn company from certain fees and taxes.

"The handle access to the company, which would be used to drain the production plant in Jundiaí (SP), was not ready in time, due to construction delays. In addition, there is a shortage of skilled labor in the country. The company has hired 175 engineers, who had to send them to China where they are doing stage. The company, however, needs more than 200 engineers to the sector, "said the minister.

For us it will matter less that those tablets are produced there because the final price will not be reduced in any case. One of the benefits could be related to the reduced delivery time of the tablets considering that now the finished products will have to be delivered from South America to the USA and Europe and not from Asia.
