Today, Nokia presented its newest smartphone, the N9, which runs the Meego OS operating system. The terminal has a 3.9 inch screen(quite unusual) with 854 x 480 resolution made of Corning's Gorilla Glass, has a 8Ghz Cortex A1 processor, PowerVR SGX530 graphics chip (the one in the iPhone 3GS), 1 GB RAM, NFC chip and will be available in 16 and 64 GB. What I like most about Meego OS is the way they arranged the exposure for multitasking, it seems to me to be a few classes above that of iOS and I hope that Apple learns something from Nokia. The idea of replacing the Home button with a swype gesture doesn't seem so great to me and probably many people will have problems in this regard.

The design of the terminal is horrible, from my point of view, but everyone has their own tastes. I like to see that Nokia has finally launched Meego on the market, it is an operating system with enormous potential that could become as used as Android or Windows Phone 7 if it is promoted properly. From a software point of view Nokia took a big step forward by launching the N9, from a design point of view I say it is a step forward or a step back judging by the images in the video clips presented here.

What do you think about the N9, will it be successful or not on the market? I think it will not surpass N8 in sales/popularity.
