Apple could launch a TV running iOS this year

Between the launch of a new iPhone terminal and the launch of a new model of the iPad tablet, Apple could launch a new TV model on the market. Rumors regarding the possible launch of a television line have existed since a few years ago, but those from Dailytech claim that they have concrete information from sources inside Apple that indicate that this year or later next year the company will launch a new TV model. This product will run a modified version of iOS and will have integrated iTunes, so it will need an Internet connection to buy movies from the iTunes Movie Store, but it will probably also be compatible with the AirPlay function.

According to sources Apple plans to "blow Netflix and all those other guys away" by bundling Apple TV + iTunes inside physical television sets. According to the source Apple is teaming up with a major supplier (our guess would be Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (SEO:005930)), to provide the physical televisions, which will be rebranded as Apple television sets.

The TV will be manufactured by a partner of the Apple company but will be sold under the Apple brand and will integrate functions available in Apple TV 2G. It is rumored that the TV will have diagonals between 40-50 inches, but the screen model it will have is not specified. At the moment there are so many models of televisions and so many manufacturers that Apple has to come up with something really innovative to get noticed, but I for one believe that Apple will not enter the television market in the near future.
