Apple releases the first Thunderbolt cable

Although Thunderbolt technology has been available for several months in MacBook Pro and iMac, it was only last night that Apple launched it the first Thunderbolt connector cable. New cable allows connecting a MacBook Pro/iMac to another device compatible with Thunderbolt technology or to a hub accessory that allows connecting several devices to the Mac. Since the launch of the technology until now, several storage systems compatible with the new technology have appeared on the market, but they are quite expensive and currently Thunderbolt is not a standard in the industry.

Thunderbolt technology supports blazing-fast data transfer with two independent channels of 10Gbit/s each. Use the Apple Thunderbolt cable to connect your Thunderbolt-equipped peripherals to your new iMac or new MacBook Pro.

The Apple accessory costs $55 in Australia, but it is not yet available in the US Apple online store.
