Veeence, a not so reliable source regarding jailbreak information, claims that iOS 5 can be jailbroken using the exploit that comex will release with jailbreakme.com 3.0. We are talking about a userland exploit that is implemented using a PDF file, i.e. a vulnerability in the Safari browser that allows users to perform an untethered jailbreak. If this vulnerability is still exploitable in iOS 5 beta 2 then someone with enough knowledge could port jailbreakme.com to iOS 5 beta 2.
For now I view this information with distrust because veeence has provided false information in the past and is generally not a reliable source.
