iTunes Wi-Fi Sync also works on Windows in iOS 5 beta 4 with iTunes 10.5 beta 4

Although Mac owners have the possibility to do Wi-Fi Sync with iTunes since the version beta 2 of iOS 5, it was only last night that Apple thought that this function would also be useful for Windows PC owners. The new iOS 5 beta 4 together with iTunes 10.5 beta 4 bring the possibility to synchronize our terminals via Wi-Fi directly with the iTunes program on the computer. Basically you have to install iTunes 10.5 beta 4 to update to iOS 5 beta 4 but as soon as you install it and update you will see in the main menu of the program that in the options section you have the option Sync over Wi-Fi connection.

In iOS 5 beta 4, wireless syncing is now available on Windows as well as the Mac (requires OS X 10.6.8 or Lion) You will see an option to enable wireless syncing when you connect your device to iTunes with the USB cable. It is recommended you perform your initial sync with a cable after restoring your device.”

To activate the possibility of wirelessly synchronizing our device with iTunes, we just have to check that option and after that everything becomes as simple as possible. In the terminal we have in Settings>General>Wi-Fi Sync the option to synchronize the device and all we have to do is either activate the option there or copy something in iTunes and press the Sync button. I for one find this function extremely useful because it eliminates the need to use cables to synchronize important data with our devices.
