Apple charged a man 122 times to buy Mac OS X Lion

Mac OS X Lion was officially released last week by Apple and recorded over 1 million downloads in the first 24 hours after release. Unfortunately, the launch of Lion also made some collateral victims, more precisely a man was charged 122 times for the purchase of Mac OS X Lion and he was not the only one. More persons they complained the fact that Apple or PayPal made multiple charges for a single purchase of Mac OS X Lion, but the 2 companies blamed each other when customers started asking questions about the recorded charges.

I freshly installed Lion, because the upgrade caused a lot of problems. My system needed as fresh start anyway.

I logged into our developer account and got the latest iTunes Beta, and installed it. iTunes has a cool new feature to download all your purchased apps for you.
I clicked download all.

As each download started it charged me $31.79. Some apps came fast, some took longer, but the timing was directly related to when a new app started to download.

The biggest problem is a man who was left without almost 4.000 dollars in his PayPal account after purchasing Mac OS X Lion only once. On discussion forums of Apple there are several threads in which this problem is discussed and not very few people have been affected. It seems that the iCloud system is to blame, more precisely the function that allows us to download already installed applications does not work correctly and automatically makes charges without any point. The interesting part is that on the 23rd, all the transactions were marked as returned, but the man did not receive a single penny, although almost 5 days passed in which he was left without the $4.000 in the account. Of course, there are problems everywhere, but 122 charges for an application represent a major bug in Apple's system.
