Rage, the game submitted by John Carmack at Quakecon 2010, has been available for more than half a year in the AppStore for both iPhone and iPad tablets. Rage is already available on PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, where it was an enormous success, and the version for iDevices has already attracted several hundred thousand downloads since its launch until now. Last evening, the company producing the game announced the release of a new update for the version dedicated to iPad tablets, and below you have all the news brought by this version:
- Recompiled under iOS 4 for better OS compatibility
- Optimized for the iPad 2 including HDMI TV output
- Analog thumbstick added as a control option
- Melee mechanic added as a gameplay tweak and content perk. Melee triggered if iOS device shook forward.
- New splash screen with updated legal text & correct id and Bethesda logos
- Game Center fixes and crash fixes
