Apple could launch a $900 iMac this month

Although only a few months have passed since the launch of the new iMac series, Apple is preparing a new product aimed at the educational environment this time. We are talking about a cheaper iMac than the current ones available in the Apple Store which will not be as powerful in terms of performance and will be aimed at students, pupils, etc. Those from 9to5mac managed to obtain from a source close to Apple the following hardware configuration for the new iMac: dual-core 3.06 GHz processor, 2 GB DDR3 RAM, 250 GB HDD, and an AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics card with 256 MB memory. The cheapest iMac now available in the Apple Store has a quad core at 2.5 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB storage space, etc., so the new product is clearly inferior to those available at prices starting at $1199.

The release date of the new iMac is August 16, but of course we're talking about a rumor, so you shouldn't rely on it being 100% safe. 9to5mac's sources claim that the new product could have a launch price of $899, $300 less than the cheapest iMac currently available on the market, but they tell you again that the price is not certain. Apple offers discounts for the educational environment regarding the purchase of Macs, the de-launch of such a product and the application of an additional discount could attract many customers for the company from Cupertino.
