The iCloud petition aims to bring back lost MobileMe features

If you have a MobileMe account, then you probably already know that some of the functions of your old account will become history starting from July 2012 when Apple will close all MobileMe services. The company from Cupertino stated that it could be convinced to bring back to life some of the MobileMe functions in iCloud, but it is necessary that a large number of users ask for this. In this idea was made a petition online which requests the reactivation of some popular functions of the MobileMe service, petition on which you can access it here.

According to recently published Apple guidelines, the shift from MobileMe to iCloud will kill a few synchronizing goodies like keychain, System Preferences and Mail. Other services, like the Photo Gallery, iDisk space and iWeb publishing functions, will be terminated as well, and the users will have to find alternative solutions within June 30, 2012. When asked to save some MobileMe features, Tim Cook, the new company CEO, stated that "Apple is open to it if there is enough feedback on the subject", as reported by AppleInsider. The article we refer to is titled "Apple open to restoring axed MobileMe features in iCloud" and was posted on Monday, September 12, 2011.

To sign the petition you only need to leave your name and email address and for now the iDisk and Mail accounts and signatures Sync are the most popular options among those who signed the document. This could be a very good method to bring to the attention of the company from Cupertino what the users want and since Apple has announced that it will consider the requests I think it is a very good opportunity to solve something. I recommend you to sign the petition if you want to review the functions of MobileMe in iCloud because your vote this time counts.
