No idea....from glass to plastic?....it's not that stupid from apple....
I personally don't like the glass on the back of the iPhone 4, but I would like it to be a rubberized plastic like they used to have on the Samsung D900.
In my opinion, the plastic back is a downgrade. And the battery access cover is even more strange and useless. I don't think that Apple will resort to such "innovations". After all, the iPhone is not like other phones that get stuck and you take out the battery or other things to make them recover.

well, if it wants to be a low-end product, it can't be like ip4 much more like ip5 if it had quality rubberized plastic, why not? for the segment in which it fits..and now for real how much people would look at the back case after buying it, you are interested in how useful it is to you, plus it wouldn't scratch easily and you wouldn't need another protective case... from my point of view that the case would be useful, even if it doesn't compete in style...

The problem with glass is that... it kind of breaks. I have friends whose glass was broken from a simple stay. I've heard a lot of broken iPhone 4 cases, which I can't say about the 3GS.
