In addition to redsn0w, sn0wbreeze is now jailbreaking the GM version of the new iOS 5 released last evening by Apple. iH8sn0w moved very quickly and updated the program with which we can jailbreak our terminals using a custom ipsw but the best part is that the program can be used in Windows. Using sn0wbreeze you will be able to jailbreak and even decode an iPhone 4, theoretically, on iOS 5 GM because sn0wbreeze keeps the baseband intact during the update and with the 04.10.01 baseband you can decode using a Gevey 3G card. Unlike resdn0w, sn0wbreeze seems to recognize the iOS 5 GM install ipsw directly so you shouldn't need iOS 5 beta 7.
Here's what sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 8 brings:
- INSTANT IPSW detection (seriously!).
- Now jailbreak iOS 5 Gold Master (9A334).
- UDID Developer check removal is no longer needed.
- Still has the ability to hack.
- Still preserves the baseband (as always!).
The iPad 2 tablet is still unavailable and the untethered jailbreak only exists for the iPhone 3GS terminal. You can download the new version of sn0wbreeze by here.
