iPhone 4S is world mode, but the decoded version only works in GSM networks

One of the very interesting things about the new iPhone is the fact that it works on both GSM and CDMA networks thanks to the new baseband chip implemented by Apple. At a first reading of the specifications provided by Apple, you would think that the terminal can be used in both types of networks without any problem, but the reality is different. The decoded version of the iPhone 4S only works in GSM networks but not with CDMA operators, so you will not be able to buy a decoded iPhone 4S to use it with other operators.

The unlocked iPhone includes all the features of iPhone but without a contract commitment. You can activate and use it on the supported GSM wireless network of your choice, such as AT&T in the United States.* The unlocked iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S will not work with CDMA-based carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint.

Apple does not say whether the terminals bought together with a CDMA subscription can also be used with GSM networks, so no one knows for now how things are. Practically, the advantage of the "world phone" is useless in this case because we cannot use the iPhone in both GSM and CDMA networks and we end up exactly in the situation of the iPhone 4 terminal. Although as a marketing strategy the information from Apple excites buyers, the reality is completely different and I think that Apple should not have put so much emphasis on the versatility of the terminal since it is limited.
