iPhone 3GS – Apple's new low-cost iPhone

There has been talk this summer of the launch of an iPhone Mini, more precisely a low-end iPhone with the help of which Apple would enter that segment of the market and attract a part of the customers oriented towards the purchase of an Android terminal. Well, in the end it wasn't an iPhone Mini, it's the old iPhone 3GS that will live on the market for another year and will be sold for free with a subscription or for €370 "free" in Apple stores. The price is not very low, but it is good enough to be competitive with other smartphones in the same category and the 3GS will continue to be successful.

The iPhone 3GS has quite old hardware but which runs relatively well the new iOS 5 which will definitely be available for 3GS owners until the appearance of iOS 6. By maintaining the 3GS and lowering the price for the iPhone 4, Apple managed to keep 3 models of the iPhone in life and to offer anyone the opportunity to purchase such a device. In its price category, the iPhone 3GS is perhaps the best solution if we compare other Android smartphones that have similar or perhaps better hardware but not as good performance.

The 3GS sold well as the iPhone 4 was Apple's high-end terminal, but the strong sales will continue this year and the 20 million iPhones sold by Apple in Q3 2011 could double by the end of 2012 .
