The millions of users who bought an iPhone 4S yesterday or today have definitely noticed that they miss an important option from the GSM network settings configuration menu. More precisely, Apple has removed the button that allowed the deactivation of 3G connectivity and unfortunately the problem is confirmed both by users in Europe and by users in the US. It seems that Apple considered that owners of iPhone 4S terminals do not need such an option and probably many will be disturbed by its absence.
I assume that this is just an escape of the company from Cupertino and with a future update it will solve the problem and reintroduce the option, but until then in iOS 5, iPhone 4S owners will remain unable to disable a 3G data connection.
