Infographic: Safari on iOS 4 vs Safari on iOS 5

If you have installed iOS 5, then you have surely noticed that the Safari browser loads web pages much faster than in the version available in iOS 4, and everything is due to the improvements implemented by the Apple company. I introduced you here the way web pages are loaded on the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, but the differences are not extremely large for any page and it must be taken into account that Safari in iOS 5 says that it has finished loading a page when in reality it has not it is so.

Going by the idea of speed, the folks at New Relic made the infographic below that demonstrates how fast Safari in iOS 5 is compared to Safari in iOS 4. According to them, on average a page in Safari for iOS 4 loads in approx. 9.6 seconds while a page in Safari for iOS 5 loads in 4.1 seconds. In another test made on much fewer applications, the difference is preserved, but the running times drop to 6.34 seconds for iOS 4 and 1.88 seconds for iOS 5.

Although the differences seem to be correct, another aspect must be taken into account, the terminals on which the tests were done. Those from Relic don't specify, it seems, but even so I make their recommendation to you, update to iOS 5 because it's worth it!
