iPhone 4S in Romania - similar prices to iPhone 4 at Orange, available from €0 at Vodafone

Last night the mobile phone operators Orange and Vodafone announced the prices for the iPhone 4S terminal which is now available for pre-order both online and in the stores of the two companies. For now, Cosmote has not announced anything on its website about the pre-order session for the iPhone 4S, so it is premature to discuss comparisons regarding the prices at which the terminal is available, but I will talk below about what Orange and Vodafone offer to their own customers in compared to last year.

Orange

For starters, Orange offers iPhone 4S at almost the same prices as the iPhone 4 last year, but the interesting part is that you can purchase an iPhone 4S with a subscription extension for only €259 if you have a subscription of at least €20 per month. The prices are high for Romania, but even Vodafone does not offer better prices than those listed above by Orange. At Orange, old subscribers now have the same prices as people who come and sign a new contract, and old subscribers also have priority in purchasing an iPhone 4S terminal. Last year the situation was exactly the opposite and I'm glad to see that Orange is finally thinking about existing subscribers.

As I said above, the prices for existing subscribers are similar to those for new customers, but in the case of those who sign a new subscription, we are talking about slightly different subscriptions. Practically, an existing subscriber has the advantage of seniority in the network and could negotiate a fairly good price for the iPhone 4S. Regarding internet options, the term "unlimited mobile internet" means included traffic of 1/1.5GB and speed limitation after exceeding it for Pantera 29/49 subscriptions and completely unlimited traffic for a Pantera subscription greater than €60.

Vodafone

At the Vodafone terminal iPhone 4S is available at prices starting with €0 if you purchase the terminal with a Mega 80 subscription that costs €80 per month and the rest of the rates are listed above. Vodafone offers less mobile internet compared to Orange, but compensates in terms of minutes and SMS and it is up to each individual to choose the subscription that best suits their pocket and needs. The interesting part at Vodafone is that you benefit from a 10% discount if you take a new subscription until November 11, so you can remove €50-€100 from the final price of the device, depending on the chosen subscription.

I say that a comparison between the offers of the two operators makes no sense for me to do it because everyone sees the options and subscription prices differently. Each of you chooses the subscription for certain needs and for certain money, so depending on what you see above you have to make a choice. When you make this choice, you must take into account the fact that the terminals are sold coded by the two operators.

Cosmote

Today Cosmote announced the price for the new terminal and I am talking about a cost of 799 RON for the purchase of an iPhone 4S with a monthly subscription of €49. On November 9, Cosmote published the entire price list that you have listed below.

We are pleased to announce that the iPhone 4S is available at COSMOTE by pre-order at a price starting from 799 lei (VAT included)/183 euros (VAT included), for the 2-year COSMOTE Adventure tariff plan.

For 48,36 euros (VAT included) per month, the COSMOTE Adventure tariff plan offers 440 national minutes, 2000 minutes on the network, 2000 SMS on the network, 2000 MMS on the network and 2,5 GB of data traffic included.
