Video: Siri running on iPhone 3GS

More than a week now we know that Siri can work without problems on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G, but today we learn that the new assistant implemented by Apple in iOS 5 also works on the iPhone 3GS. The video clip above demonstrates how well this can be done and you notice that Siri works well on the old Apple terminal. The good part is that Siri has already been ported to the iPhone 3GS and the port comes from chpwn and Steve-Throughton Smith, the people who also ported the system to the iPhone 4/iPod Touch 4G.

Will Siri be available on iPhone 3Gs soon? Probably not. Ryan Petrich is already working on the implementation of the Activator plugin in Siri but the release of a version of Siri for iPhone 3GS/4 and iPod Touch 4G depends on the release of a jailbreak solution for the iPhone 4S and of course the discovery of a method by which Siri can be launched legally for users.

  1. It's the proximity sensor. Siri is designed to be used even when you have the phone to your ear, so it activates the sensor to see if you are holding the phone to your ear or not.

  2. Zaone, you should know that I appreciate your effort telling us not to get our hopes up with porting siri to older terminals, but in the end you have to admit that this port will "escape" somewhere .. it seems that more and more people have access to the solution 🙂

  3. Za, you wrote somewhere around here that Siri will have problems running on a single core. I looked on the net and understood that the audio file with the command, compressed, is sent to the server, where the information is processed and the result is sent, which is code that is run, plus voice. In principle, iPhone 3G or Lion can also work... So Apple should do well to implement it, otherwise it will be bombarded by mail from all idevice owners on a daily basis 😉

  4. @Chatagra: It's the last time I say that APPLE WILL NOT PORT SIRI ON THE OLD iDEVICES, for those who have eyes I would see. I delete the future comments in which I see what was written by you immediately. I got bored repeating the same thing 1000 times when I wrote in all the articles already.

  5. TheDog are you really bro? Just as you have a video above in which it SHOWS you that Siri also works on single core processors, and then you with a comment like this: 'siri only works with A5.... hahahahah ' .Jesus Christ man ……. 😐
The only problem is that Apple will never officially implement Siri on older devices, why offer full support for old terminals when it's better (for them, of course) to buy a new one, isn't it logical?
Use your brain a little brother before you come with comments like this ……

  6. "Siri was created only for iPhone 4S!"

It doesn't need a processor to run, it needs internet, 3G or Wi-FI! However, the general SIRI server accepts information only from 4S. If they had really created it for 3G/3Gs, the 3G/3Gs update to iOS 5 should have automatically installed it! But c'mon, it was a marketing strategy, they put SIRI on apple.com, everyone saw it, millions of pre-orders, and then in order not to have access to it, they made it just44s.. in conclusion, you want SIRI go buy an iphone 4s.

And btw Blom, SIRI was introduced to Steve Jobs, he had no idea about it and he didn't until the moment when he stood in front of him and asked dryly "what is it"?! Plus, he only deals with the company, not the products, people say that Apple will fall, Steve was alone and the image of Apple, but that doesn't mean that out of the thousands of employees and the thousands of geniuses working at Apple, no one does anything anymore and Apple falls..
