iRobot – the robot designed by Apple and controlled with an iPad tablet

Apple engineers are constantly working to development of things as interesting as possible for the company's clients and a recently published patent denotes the interest in the construction of robots controlled by iPad tablets. The image above shows the creation of Apple engineers and we are talking about a robot that is mainly intended for the medical environment. The entire construction has an iPad tablet on top that would probably show doctors and patients all kinds of interesting and useful information, but we must not forget that we are only talking about a patent.

iRobot's introductory abstract describes the invention this way: "A robot system includes a mobile robot having a controller executing a control system for controlling operation of the robot, a cloud computing service in communication with the controller of the robot, and a remote computing device in communication with the cloud computing service. The remote computing device communicates with the robot through the cloud computing service."

Most of the inventions published and registered by the Apple company do not reach the market and I do not see why this "iRobot" would be different from any point of view. It is not the first time that the company's employees design products that are not launched on the market, and what we see above could be just the initial phase of a much more complex project.
