iPad 2 has the fastest browser for smartphones and tablets according to Futuremark

Futuremark is a well-known software developer company for benchmarking and from 2009 until now has had Ongoing a program intended for testing browsers for PCs and mobile terminals. From the data collected by the company, it appears that Chrome is currently the fastest browser for desktops, closely followed by Opera and Safari is the slowest. Paradoxical is the fact that in 2009, when the tests started, Safari was even the fastest, but at the moment it seems that it has been surpassed by the major browsers.

Futuremark states that since the first version of the Peacekeeper was released in March 2009, the program has tested 3140 different browser versions. While Apple's Safari browser was the fastest when the benchmark was launched, Futuremark says that Safari is now the slowest of the web browsers that are tested on the PC and Mac platform. Google's Chrome has been the fastest web browser tested on Peacekeeper since May 2009 for the PC and Mac. However, it notes that the Opera web browser has been closing the speed gap.

Regarding mobile terminals, the iPad 2 tablet has the fastest browser and of course we are talking about the mobile version of Safari. In second place is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, in 3rd place is the Asus W500, in 4th place is the iPhone 4S and in 5th place is the Samsung Galaxy S II. The top is very interesting especially because in the tests done by some reviewers we were shown that the Samsung Galaxy S II would have a faster browser than Safari and now it remains for you to choose each one if you trust Futuremark or the tests seen on the Internet.

In terms of their browser performance, Apple's iPad 2 is the fastest among tablets and smartphones, according to Peacekeeper. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet is second followed by the Acer Iconia W500 in third place, Apple's iPhone 4S in fourth place and the Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone in fifth place.

Those at Futuremark used a special algorithm for testing the performance of browsers, an algorithm that is based on the latest HTML 5 standards. It is interesting that Safari for mobile is the fastest browser and Safari for desktop is the weakest and the desktop version of Chrome is the fastest, while the mobile version would not be as good.
