Pod2G has just announced on its blog that it has released the untethered jailbreak solution for iPhone 4, iPad 1 and iPod Touch 4G. For now, I don't know the details of the new jailbreak solution, but I will update this article with new information. It seems that the jailbreak could be done directly from Cydia. The untethered jailbreak solution works with iOS 5.0.1.
UPDATE: The solution works on iPhone 3GS/4, iPad 1 and iPod Touch 3G/4G. The untethered jailbreak ONLY works on iOS 5.0.1 and can be done using redsn0w 0.9.10 beta 1 which you can download from here: Windows, Mac.
