The $100 tablet exists and looks extremely interesting

Founders of the OLPC (one laptop per child) project will present at CES 2012 the first $100 tablet ever built and in the images of this article we have a concept of it. The tablet will have an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1024×768 and will be called XO 3.0. The new product will run Linux Sugar or Android OS and according to the images in this article it looks like a pretty interesting device. Perhaps more interesting than the design is the mode of operation because in addition to the solar panels implemented in it, the tablet can work based on the energy generated by the user by turning that handle on the right side of the device.

The tablet does not have extremely good hardware, nor will the screen be exceptional, but it will cost $100 and for every minute of turning the handle, users will get 10 minutes of autonomy. To be honest, I would like to see something like this produced by Apple itself, but with much, much better specifications because, to be honest, the design seems great to me (except for that handle). The tablet is a low-budget one for disadvantaged areas around the world where people don't have money for such products, but even so it looks very interesting.
