Intel Atom Medfield – the fastest processors for web browsing

Today I introduced you a Lenovo smartphone equipped with Intel's Intel Atom Medfield processor and here we have a benchmark made by the Anandtech team in which the performance of that smartphone is demonstrated in terms of web browsing. Notice that the Intel Medfield platform is the fastest for web browsing, both the browsermark test and the javascript test confirming this. The difference compared to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the iPhone 4S is large in both cases, so we are talking about an important increase in performance.

The smartphone equipped with the Intel Medfield platform runs Android 4.0, just like the Galaxy Nexus, but the performance difference between the two is just over 10% in Browsermark and over 50% in the javascript test. The most interesting part of the Intel Atom Z2460 processor? It is single-core and yet it is much, much faster than the dual-core processors in the most popular smartphones in the world.

Finally, we have some information about the energy efficiency of the processors and you notice that Intel Medfield does better than the other platforms in most comparisons. Intel has already concluded partnerships with Motorola and Lenovo, a smartphone produced by Lenovo already exists on the market, now others produced by Motorola are to appear.
