Downgrade/upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 before the release of the untethered jailbreak solution, DO NOT update to iOS 5.0.2 when it is available!

If you read iDevice.ro in the last few days, you learned that the untethered jailbreak solution for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S is close to launch, Pod2G announcing that the team has entered "the last hundred meters" in terms of the development process. The new jailbreak solution will only work with iOS 5.0.1, compatibility with iOS 5.0 being far from questionable for now. If you do not yet have iOS 5.0.1 installed on your terminal, it would be good to update because otherwise you will not be able to do untethered jailbreak when the solution is released.

If you have iOS 5.1 beta installed on your terminal, you can downgrade to iOS 5.0.1 without problems as Apple still saves SHSHs for this version of the operating system. To downgrade, you just need to open iTunes, connect the iDevice to the computer and press the restore button. If the process does not work, you can enter the terminal in DFU Mode before starting. If Apple releases iOS 5.0.2, you will NOT be able to downgrade to iOS 5.0.1 until a few hours after the release of the new version of the operating system.

If Apple will release iOS 5.0.2, do NOT update because you might update the baseband and you might lose the possibility to unlock.
