Apple caught by surprise by the incidents in Beijing

On Friday, Apple tried to launch the iPhone 4S in China, but the launch was met by a horde of grandparents who they got into a fight in front of the Apple store, they started throwing eggs at the door of the store and were finally calmed down by the police who came to the location. The police also took the decision to compel Apple to postpone the release of the iPhone 4S, something that happened and all because of the riots that represented a huge problem for everyone. The police decided that the launch cannot take place in safe conditions and for now it is not known when it will be rescheduled.

On the side of incidents in China, Tim Cook stated that his company was taken by surprise by the unfolding of events and that in the future measures will be taken to increase safety. The statement reminds me of that of our authorities who are always taken by surprise in winter and in the case of Apple the exact same thing applies. When the iPhone 4S was launched in Hong Kong, there were exactly the same problems, the police being called to calm down the same old-timers who had come to fight in front of the company's store. Considering those incidents, Apple should have expected something similar in Beijing and taken much more drastic security measures. This did not happen, the iPhone 4S was not released and thousands/tens of thousands of people were left with a bitter taste.

Apple has a very big problem in this regard, Asians who unfortunately do not limit themselves to their own country, but send their people to Europe or even the USA to launch iDevices of the company from Cupertino. I, for one, do not think that Apple will solve the problem of second-guessing because they buy a lot of devices and this could affect the credibility and image of the company.
