350.000 books downloaded in three days after the launch of iBooks 2

Last week Apple presented the application iBooks 2 with iBooks Author and his concept regarding the digital books that pupils and students should use in schools and universities. Just three days after the launch of iBooks 2, iBooks Author and the new section for interactive books, a US market analysis company stands up that over 350.000 books and 90.000 copies of iBooks Author have already been downloaded. If these figures are real, then everything presented by Apple seems to be a real success, and this is probably because it is presented by Apple and is supported by major US publishing houses.

According to Global Equities Research, which monitors Apple's iBook sales via a proprietary tracking system it doesn't much care to discuss, more than 350,000 textbooks were downloaded from the company's iBooks Store within the first three days of availability. And there were some 90,000 downloads of iBooks Author, Apple's free textbook-creation tool, during the same time.

The books released in the new section of the iBookstore are available in English, but soon others for various languages will be published and then we will see if the new platform from Apple represents an alternative for other markets besides the US.
