Over 800.000 iPhone 4S terminals and iPad 2 tablets installed Cydia last weekend

Absinthe has been downloaded over 1 million times in just one day of availability, and we're only talking about Mac owners, and the figure is extremely impressive. If we have partial statistics on the number of downloads of the Absinthe jailbreak program, then we should also have statistics on the number of new terminals that have installed Cydia and they came from saurik. According to an article written by the Dev Team, over 800.000 iPhone 4S terminals and iPad 2 tablets installed the Cydia application for the first time and accessed it. Another 153.000 iPad 2 tablets were jailbroken a second time and in total we have almost 1 million devices with A5 chip that jailbroken in just 3 days after the release of Absinthe.

  • 491,325 new iPhone4,1 devices
  • 308,967 new iPad2 devices
  • 152,940 previously jailbroken (at 4.x) iPad2 devices

Total: 953,232 new A5 jailbreaks in a little over 3 days

The number will definitely increase in the following days, but even so it is quite high and theoretically the number of jailbroken terminals increased by 8% in just 3 days. In the following days we will have much more detailed statistics regarding the jailbroken iDevices, but Absinthe seems to be a real success.
