A bug in iOS 5.0.1 lets you make FaceTime calls from an iPhone locked with a passcode

At the moment, there is no operating system that is perfect and free of bugs, but Apple's iOS 5 seems to have more problems than any other version of iOS. Today I have for you a bug of the operating system that allows anyone to initiate any kind of calls from your terminal even if it is blocked with a security code. Everything happens in the LockScreen and requires the use of the Voice Control function, but it has been shown that Siri can do the same thing on the iPhone 4S terminal.

The bug works like this: set a Passcode for the terminal, lock it, unlock it and in the lockscreen hold down the Home button until the Voice Control interface appears and say call Andrei but the terminal will tell you that it cannot make calls and will close the interface, but you will reactivate the locksreen and use the slider to unlock, and instead of entering the security code, press the button to initiate an emergency call; at this moment, reopen the Voice Control interface and say the command call Andrei; if you have a friend with this name then VoiceControl will initiate a voice call that will close after a few seconds. Although this method does not allow you to make voice calls, you can make FaceTime calls without problems and you can find out the contacts in a person's phonebook, but only if you guess them.

Although we are talking about a bug that has extremely limited utility, there is a very simple method by which you can ensure that it can never be used against you. From the menu Settings>General>Passcode Lock you can uncheck the Voice Dial option and the Voice Control interface will not be displayed in the LockScreen when the terminal is protected by a security code.
