4G LTE and compatibility with iPad 3 and iPhone 5

After years in which Apple refused to include compatibility with 4G LTE technology for its iDevices, this year everything could change. There are many rumors that confirm the compatibility between the iPad 3 and 4G LTE networks, and they corroborated with the moves made by the mobile phone operators make it clear that Apple is ready to launch iDevices with this implemented telecommunications technology. In the last year, the big operators in the USA launched 4G LTE networks and expanded the coverage area, but they are not the only ones because the operators in Europe are doing exactly the same thing at the moment.

In Great Britain, France and Italy mobile phone operators are starting to test 4G LTE networks and some of them will be active until the launch of iPhone 5 or shortly after. It's hard to say that mobile phone operators act according to Apple, but I could say that Apple planned the inclusion of 4G LTE technology in iDevices depending on how mobile phone operators prepare this kind of networks. I think that this year we will have 4G LTE technology included in iDevices ONLY if Apple will include a larger battery in the iPad 3 and iPhone 5 or if it managed to implement baseband chips that do not consume a lot of energy.

Most of the Android terminals compatible with 4G LTE networks have a rather low battery autonomy and Apple tries to avoid such a thing and I think that iDevices will be compatible with 4G LTE technologies if they also have a good autonomy plus the networks on which to operate . In Romania, Orange is testing its own 4G LTE network and would launch it somewhere at the end of the year or at the beginning of next year, so an iPhone 5 4G would be extremely well received.
