Immediately after publishing the image sent with the invitations at the Apple conference for the presentation of the iPad 3 was discussed the existence of the Home button in the new tablet. If the Home button was removed by Apple, then putting the tablet into DFU Mode, a "state" sometimes necessary to perform a jailbreak or restore, would apparently be impossible. MuscleNerd comes tonight and clarifies the problem saying that without the Home button there will be another combination of buttons to enter an iDevice in DFU Mode so we will not be left without the possibility of using a possible bootrom exploit for this device.
Of course, a possible jailbreak solution will not be available immediately after the product is launched, but it will probably take a few months before a team thinks of developing a program for users.
Although it's part of an iDevice, it's as if I wish there was no more home button. We all know that after a certain time it starts to wear off and it's as if even when the device is new you are afraid to press the button.
It would be interesting if apple will implement functions like those implemented by the zephyr tweak in cydia, without the home button
He already has them implemented but a little differently.
I say that the home button will be an illuminated touch from the case
I honestly like the home button and I think it would be a little strange without it, but I'm curious what alternative Apple has for it...
You get used to it without it!
no home button will be the problem for DFU, for example on ipod nano to enter recovery mode, press power + volume button
And when you think that SJ wanted to make the iPhone without any initial button. What would it have been like then? Cool, just like it is now 🙂 And I suspect the iPad would have been the same.
We'll live and see... Without a button, I think it's a plus, don't worry anymore, at some point it doesn't work as it should.
