Thousands of iPad 3 cases arrive at Best Buy stores in the US

Two days separate us from the iPad 3 presentation conference, but thousands of cases for the new tablet are already being delivered to Best Buy stores in the US. I am talking about cases manufactured by some manufacturers who probably have no idea what the iPad 3 tablet looks like, but they are sure that all the images with the new tablet case are true. Last summer, many manufacturers of iPhone accessories produced tens of thousands of cases for iPhone 5 without knowing how the product looks and I think the same thing is happening now, the manufacturers betting everything on the rumors that appeared on the Internet.

There's only two days until Apple announces the next iPad on Wednesday, March 7th, but cases for the tablet have already started shipping in sealed boxes. A pink sticker on top of the boxes saying "Do not display until official iPad 3 launch" confirms this, a tipster revealed. The shipment is not of just a few cases – there's over a 1,000 Targus Versavu 360 stands for the next-gen iPad shipping to Best Buy, meaning that it won't be long until the actual tablet hits the shelves. Also, this confirms that Apple has chosen "iPad 3" for the name rather than "iPad 2S," or some other variation.

The case in the image above is manufactured by the Targus company and 1000 units have already been delivered to Best Buy, but I am only talking about one product. Belkin and Griffin have already prepared similar units and they imply that the iPad 3 tablet will have a design similar to that of the iPad 2. If the "bet" made by the manufacturers of these cases will prove to be a winner or not we will find out in a few days when Apple will present the new tablet. For now, Best Buy lists the cases as being for the iPad 3 and instructs its employees not to sell them.
