Apple introduces new security measures in iOS 5.1

iOS 5.1 security

In the new iOS 5.1 Apple added some security measures for its users, all with the idea of strengthening their protection. To begin with, we are talking about adding a setting that allows the activation of a filter for obscene words that prevents the personal assistant Siri from reciting this kind of words. The second new setting allows users to block the activation of the Siri assistant when a terminal is locked and I told you here why this option has caused problems so far. Finally, we have an option that allows us to block the activation of the GPS service on iDevices and as soon as you activate the setting, you will not be able to use the GPS until it is deactivated.

These new restrictions can be activated either from the menu Settings> General> Restrictions of iOS either with the help of applications Configurator or iPhone Configuration Utility. Activation directly from the terminals is simpler because it allows quick deactivation and activation with the other two applications involves reconnecting the terminal to a computer to make changes.
