The 15-inch MacBook Air could be launched in April

Not even a year has passed since the launch of the new MacBook Air models and for several weeks there have been rumors suggesting that Apple intends to update the offer in its own stores. A new model of the MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen seems to be in the works at Apple and a manufacturer of accessories for Apple products says that in April we will see the product on the market. Because we are talking about an accessory manufacturer, we must take the rumor with a very large "dose" of mistrust, considering the fact that Apple is not very used to providing confidential information to these types of partners.

And what is coming? If you take our source's word for it, a 15-inch MacBook Air with ports on both sides, no optical drive and no ethernet cable.

While our source wasn't certain that this would completely destroy the Pro (he also stated that Apple might hold on to the 17-inch model, which would make sense for the sizeable audience of professional editors out there), he was fairly sure that the shakeup will happen in April. To that end, our source's company's got its manufacturers on standby to be able to make and ship a new product lineup within 90 days.

Of course, this is not the first time we hear about the possible launch of a MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen, but the timeframe presented now does not quite match an announcement made by Intel a few weeks ago. A representative of the American company stated that the launch of the new Ivy Bridge processors will be postponed until June, so the launch of a MacBook Air in April seems impossible if Intel keeps its new plans. Whatever the situation, only two weeks separate us from the beginning of April and we will find out then how things will unfold.
