OS X Mountain Lion allows renaming files directly from their opening window

One of the main problems of OS X is the impossibility to edit the files in any way when we try to access them from the file selection window. In Windows this is possible without any problem, but Apple barely includes in OS X Mountain Lion the option to rename files through that system. The change is welcome but it is late and unfortunately does not cover all the needs of users who would make their work easier if they did not have to modify files by searching for them through the Finder.

Well done Apple, it's a step forward, now how much more time is needed to allow us to edit files through this system?
