Apple could launch a TV in 2013

For several months now, there have been rumors that the launch of an Apple television is certain, and according to new information, 2013 would be the year in which the product would be officially available. A Hong Kong analyst provides this latest information and he claims that a recent Foxconn investment in Sharp would be related to the possible development of a television for the Apple company, but of course the information is unconfirmed. It seems that the TV will be presented at an event held by the American company, but no one knows when next year it will take place.

We continue to view Apple TV hardware as a 2013 event.

The timing of Hon Hai/Foxconn's equity stake and partnership with Sharp along with Hon Hai Chairman Terry Gou's separate 46.5% investment in Sharp's Sakai City plant lends further credibility that Apple TV is in the works. This also follows reports that Apple is investing ~$1.3bn in equipment destined for Sharp facilities.

Yesterday we presented you an invention patent of the American company that presents a technology that allows the production of screens for televisions that have a high refresh rate. It is rumored that the new TV would be extremely thin, would have integrated the personal assistant Siri and would be compatible with the services offered by Apple through iTunes.
