Although those from Gevey they announced yesterday that they will be able to decode the baseband 04.11.08 of the iPhone 4 with the help of the Gevey Ultra card, today the Apple nBerry company has officially announced the launch of the Gevey Ultra card for the iPhone 4, which unlocks for the baseband 04.12.01, or lower, on iOS 5.1 or lower. The new cards will decode any existing iPhone 4 baseband, so you don't have to worry about incompatibilities, but in the future you have to keep your baseband intact, otherwise the solution will be completely useless.
The new GEVEY™ Ultra unlocks your GSM iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 and earlier and now supports modem firmware versions 1.59, 2.10, 3.10.1, 4.10.1, 4.11.08, and 4.12.01. Currently, a tethered Jailbreak is available for iOS 5.1 for iPhone 4, and you will also need to install the latest Furious Mod file for proper operation. Additional software needed and tested to unlock your iPhone 4 with the new GEVEY™ Ultra are Redsn0w 0.910b1 and Absinthe v0.4. Note that we cannot offer phone support for installation, configuration, or troubleshooting of the iPhone Jailbreak process.
Although Gevey Ultra unlocks iPhone 4 with any baseband, the new unlock solution through SAM it decodes any iPhone with any baseband and any version of iOS, but that solution ONLY works with one card. Gevey has the advantage of offering unlock for any card, so from my point of view it is superior. Pre-orders for Gevey Ultra start now at the price of $50, cards will be shipped starting April 27th.
Finally, I'll tell you the worst part, specifically the new Gevey card doesn't work without a jailbreak and the Furious Mod tweak, so you have to jailbreak and install that package.
