Apple makes it clear that Macs will have new hardware functions in OS X Mountain Lion

OS X Mountain Lion Developer Preview 3 was released last night by Apple for Mac app developers, but the company doesn't publish software just for them. Apple has been running a special program for some time Appleseed through which it offers a part of its clients access to certain versions of iOS/Mac OS even before it reaches the developers. Well to these customers of AppleSeed Apple sent them an email in which he asked them to tell him which products of the company they own because the future versions of OS X Mountain Lion will contain functions related to certain hardware components.

We are preparing for possible hardware specific software updates on OS X Mountain Lion. These contain hardware-specific bug fixes or even special features! In order to make sure you can participate in these exclusive seeds, we need your most up-to-date machine configuration information. The easiest and most efficient way to do this is with Feedback Assistant.

It is assumed that Apple would talk about the famous Retina Displays that would appear in future Macs, but customers do not own such products. Maybe Apple wants to test other functions related to the Mac hardware or maybe the company just wants to find out what else the participants of the AppleSeed program bought, we will never know. Even so, it is certain that Apple is preparing some interesting surprises for us in OS X Mountain Lion.
