The first Apple Stores turn 11 years old

Exactly 11 years ago Apple opened its first stores in Glendale Galleria, California, and Tysons Corner Center, Virginia, in events that marked the beginning of a "successful" era for the American company. On May 15, Steve Jobs presented the first Apple store to American journalists and only 4 days later the official launch would take place, and 11 years later things are completely different. In just over 1 decade, Apple has opened nearly 400 stores worldwide, they are visited annually by nearly 1 billion people and each fiscal quarter generates billions of dollars in sales. Apple's competitors are trying to copy the successful model from Apple Stores, but so far no one has managed to reproduce at least in part everything that we find there.

Although the people from Apple intend to open several dozen stores this year, none of them seem to be intended for Romania, and this in the conditions where our country is starting to become more and more important for the USA, something highlighted by the inclusion of the country in the second wave of iPad 3 launches. In the future, Apple stores will become more and more important in the global economy, bringing important revenues to the administrations of the cities/countries where they operate, and I hope that in the end Romania will become enough attractive enough for the American company to open a store.
