FaceTime and calls made using a data connection

Users requested the option to use FaceTime over a data connection, Apple included it in iOS 6, but you might find out that she's not that great, at least for now. Playing today with FaceTime via 3G, using the Orange network which reached about 10 Mbits when I did the test, I found that I can't make video calls just like I thought. If the apps in the App Store display the video feed even if you have a bad connection, FaceTime will not do this, but will display the message above, but will keep the audio feed active, so you will at least be able to talk.

Having a strong signal and a connection of almost 10 Mbits, I received the above message when I tried to make a FaceTime call with an iPad tablet that was connected to a Wi-Fi network. I expect FaceTime via EDGE to work about the same, and using a data connection I assume you have to have a very good speed to make a video conversation. In my case, the call started without problems, it went on for a few seconds, then the above message appeared. Now I'm curious to know what experiences you had with FaceTime because in my case things were not so good. I want to mention that I have never had any problems using 3G Unrestrictor.

  1. It's really not pleasant, but it's probably the beta version of the software. It should also adapt to a lower bandwidth, but not drop below a minimum threshold.

  2. I think how cool the background of the predominantly black screen will look with an apple phone on black like the one in Zaone's post.... I like it to the max

  3. Install an application for VPN from the AppStore and with the option activated call on viber, skype etc. and you will see that you can talk without problems with the guaranteed 3G connection
