According to the rumors published this weekend, the Microsoft company announced last night the launch of two own tablets called Surface that will run Windows 8 Pro and Windows RT. The tablets have a 10.6-inch ClearType HD Display, 1366 x 768 resolution, microSD, USB 2.0, Micro HD Video, 2×2 MIMO antennae, the one made for Windows RT runs on the basis of the Nvidia Tegra 3 platform, so it has a quad-core processor, and the one made for Windows 8 runs on an Intel Ivy Bridge processor, so it will be much more powerful. Regarding the storage space, the tablets can be equipped with 32 - 128 GB, depending on the preferences of the users, so here we have a big "plus" compared to the iPad tablet from Apple. Finally, I will tell you that the entire tablet is only 9.3 mm thick and has a casing made of a magnesium alloy, so a slightly different material than what you were used to in the iPad, for example.

Although the tablets themselves are interesting, they are "complimented" by two covers that should improve the user experience. The two covers are called Touch Cover and Type Cover, and in essence I am talking about a cover that attaches to the tablet, which protects it both on the front and on the back, but its main functionality is provided by the keyboard and touchpad . Considering that we are talking about tablets running Windows OS, we needed an accessory that would provide a keyboard and a touchpad, and these covers fulfill their functions without any problems. The main difference between them lies in the fact that the Touch Cover has a capacitive surface and the Type Cover has physical keys, so on the second one you will actually feel the keys when you press them. Both Cases will be available for both tablets, so users will be able to choose the best option for them.

These are Microsoft's magnificent tablets that further fragment the Windows OS tablet market, but offer an extra option for the undecided. The tablets will soon be available in stores at a price to be announced by Microsoft.
