10 million Samsung Galaxy S IIIs could be sold by the end of July

At the end of May, Samsung launched the Galaxy S III terminal in several dozen countries around the world and started a massive media campaign to promote its new device. Then it is speculated that 9 million pre-orders have been made for the device, however, it was not about user orders, but about possible orders from mobile phone operators and stores. Almost a month after the official launch, JK Shin, head of Samsung's telecommunications department, says that 10 million Galaxy S III terminals could be sold by the end of July.

SEOUL (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics Co, the world's biggest smartphone maker, expects cumulative sales of its latest smartphone Galaxy S III to top 10 million units during July, JK Shin, head of its telecommunications business, said on Monday.

Although the figure is impressive, it should not be forgotten that the guys from Samsung are not referring to sales to customers when they make such statements, but are referring to the deliveries of units in the distribution chain, i.e. 10 million Galaxy S IIIs reach the stores in the whole world where they are waiting to be bought. Practically, the real sales figure could be much lower, but Samsung only reveals it when it suits them, so we are talking about a lack of transparency and credibility. Apple sold 4 million iPhone 4S terminals in just 3 days, Samsung could sell 10 million Galaxy S IIIs in 2 months and we are still talking about a big step forward made by the Korean manufacturer.
