RCS & RDS launches mobile data roaming service

Today the mobile phone operator RCS & RDS announced the launch of the roaming mobile internet service for customers traveling outside Romania. The interesting part of the press release published today by RCS & RDS lies in the fact that the rates charged by them are quite low, almost accessible to those who want to use the mobile Internet in roaming. More precisely, one MB of roaming Internet traffic costs €0.28 at Digi Mobil, and this despite the fact that some mobile operators charge €1/MB for traffic made in Romania.

  More is explained below.

RCS & RDS has launched the roaming mobile data service, which can be activated by the company's subscribers to mobile voice and mobile Internet services on the phone. The service can be activated by phone - with the support of the Customer Relations department - or in the customer accounts on the company's website (https://digicare.rcs-rds.ro). The rates charged by RCS & RDS for roaming data traffic are almost half compared to other existing rates in the roaming market, which reach up to 0,70 euros/1 MB.

When activating data traffic, in order to protect subscribers according to EU regulations, they benefit from a value limit of 50 euros, and if they need more traffic, they can request the use of the service up to a limit of 200 euros (rates without VAT).
