The iPad Mini with a 7- or 8-inch screen will be released in October, but without Retina Display

Partially contradicting yesterday's rumor regarding the launch of an iPad Mini tablet with a 7.86-inch screen and IGZO Retina Display, those from Bloomberg supports that the future tablet from Apple will have a screen with a diagonal between 7 and 8 inches, but it will have a resolution of only 1024 x 768 pixels. The information is not really new because in the past months we have heard similar rumors several times that did not present the iPad Mini with Retina Display, but of course Apple can take the decision at any time to give its product a real competitive advantage.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) plans to debut a smaller, cheaper iPad by year-end, two people with knowledge of the plans said, to help maintain dominance of the tablet market as Google Inc. (GOOG) and Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) prepare competing handheld devices. The new model will have a screen that's 7 inches to 8 inches diagonally, less than the current 9.7-inch version, said the people, who asked not to be identified because Apple hasn't made its plans public. The product, which Apple may announce by October, won't have the high-definition screen featured on the iPad that was released in March, one of the people said.

The lack of Retina Display is not the only disadvantage of the iPad Mini in front Google Nexus 7 because the price of the tablet could be higher than that of the product developed and sold by Google. I expect Apple not to offer users a truly great product, I expect the tablet not to have a Retina Display, a powerful processor or other new features, I expect it to be just a smaller version of the iPad 2 and I don't think so that it will give it an advantage over the Galaxy Nexus 7 than in the case where the price will be lower.
